It's the bit about the shirt and the safety glasses that puzzles me.
Posted by Alan Allport at May 14, 2004 10:56 AMMaybe trying for the "You talkin' to me?" look.
But definitely in his own movie.
If I planned on trashing a store I would definitely protect my eyes from ricocheting objects.
Posted by: Barbara MacDonald at May 15, 2004 03:46 PMYes indeed. Tends to disprove his claim that he only meant to yell at them, doesn't it?
Posted by: Martha Bridegam at May 15, 2004 04:16 PMI'd still like to know what the shirt business was all about. Surely if ricocheting objects are a concern then the more clothes the better?
Posted by: Alan Allport at May 15, 2004 04:18 PMI think the tearing off of shirts is some kind of deeply biological male aggression impulse, like gorillas beating their chests. You know, every time a guy gets wound up to fight, he tears his shirt off, and the hotter under the collar he is, the better a ripping sound it makes. It's all very Homeric.
Posted by: Kat Charest at May 22, 2004 12:26 AMI guess. You'd think that a comparatively wussy thing like putting goggles on would cancel out the effect, though ...
Posted by: Alan Allport at May 22, 2004 05:06 AMAchilles had his shield, didn't he?
