Then I thought back to something I read about Gates's completely insane mansion and beyond-conspicuous consumption, so I thought I'd try googling him and see if I could find something.
The first hit was much better. His personal website, which it had for some reason never occured to me to look for, replete with the following prominently excerpted quote from a recent speech:
