Am I the only one who finds it strange that the only segment of our population trained in conflict avoidance are CHL applicants?

Because...they can easily kill people?

Granted, probably no more dangerous than Ford Expedition drivers talking on cell phones.

Sure -- if you're going to pick a single-digit percentage of the population to give conflict-avoidance training to, it makes sense to move CHL applicants to the front of the line.

But it's a very short line.

Yes I did. Not sure why that surprised anyone though.

As far as conflict avoidance training: I wonder what, exactly, such training consists of? Is it anything like sensitivity training?

Well, judging by the article, it involves a black-clad man in combat boots lecturing you on communication strategies and the costly legal consequences of even justified violence.
