Gene's post on the National Bolshevist Party over at Harry's Place got me poking around Wikipedia a bit this evening.
One young lady's single-day edit history turns up the depressing sort of contributions you'd expect from a documentation project that operates under the insignia of the NKVD.
Posted by Ben Brumfield at December 18, 2006 07:06 PMA few interesting details here. On the first page of changes, in the middle of the page, "terror" is changed to "repression", and then at the bottom "repression" is changed to "regulations".
Right next to the aforementioned insignia on this group's website the text reads:
Our goal is to promote more unbiased, objective assessments of this historical period, and challenge the politically-inspired, demagogic paradigms...
and so on.
Posted by: Alan Hogue at December 22, 2006 06:53 PMThis is also interesting. It's a blurb about an article available from that site:
Stalin and Yezhov: An Extra-Paradigmatic View: Unique analysis of the Stalin era in the Soviet Union from a non-Marxist, non-"Totalitarian Paradigm" perspective, incorporating new and neglected information.
They make much of this idea of being "extra-paradigmatic".
